For CPA hires the customer is responsible for ensuring that a competent Appointed Person for lifting operations is nominated. This person will be responsible for all planning of the lift, choosing the required lifting accessories and identifying sufficient personnel to carry out the lifting operation safely.
They must have a good knowledge and understanding of the lifting operation they intend to carry out.
The responsibility of the planning, control, supervision and ensuring the right insurance cover is taken out for the personnel involved with the works, risks to the crane and also public liabilities is down to the customer.
Mechplant offer a crane fleet with a range of capacity from 35T to 80T for CPA hires.
We also offer additional CPCS qualified Slinger/Signallers at a cost should you require.
However, if you would prefer to hand the majority of the associated risks to us, choose our Contract Lifting service, we will provide you with all the necessary personnel, documentation and insurances, eliminating most of the risk to you.
Not all risk can be accepted by Mechplant as it is always the client’s responsibility to carry out their own assessment of the ground conditions to ensure that it is suitable to withstand the loading that will be imposed upon it throughout the lifting operation.
